Stockist Spotlight: Lee and Me

Photography by John Benavente

Lee and Me has long been a part of the Status family. Since opening their doors in 2008, Lee and Me has created a little community, a hub, where you can feel comfortable and inspired - leaving with a full tummy and some new threads (or leather!). We talk to Lee and Me Boutique Manager, Ryan Xuereb.

Q: What is it about Lee and Me that makes it so charming?

A major contributing factor would have be the beautiful heritage terrace that we operate out of and love to call home. It's been the inspiration for many aspects of the shop, from the interior design and merchandising to the 'heritage' collection we started several months ago....the team also shares a great passion for what we do from the food to the fashion and great coffee which I believe is the heart beat that makes Lee and Me a charming place to be.

Q: How do you select the labels that you stock in store? What are some of your favourites?

Simple. We select what we love .... and love to wear!!! You could say it's like our very own desired wardrobe. Favourite labels for me would have to be hands down Vanishing Elephant, Herschel Supply Co. and Dr Denim.

Q: What's your favourite thing about working there?

It would have to be that I get to work with the things that LOVE - from buying to merchandising, working with people sometimes it doesn't even feel like work because Ilove it so much... not to mention the great coffee and food that I get to enjoy everyday!

Q: Speaking of great food, what do we have to order off the menu?

Couple of my faves:

Vanilla hotcakes :w rhubarb and cinnamon compote, sweet ricotta maple syrup and a pistachio and pecan praline.$15

Angel Hair pasta:w charred asparagus spears, mushroom duxelle, fetta, toasted parmesan crumb and beuree noisette.$17

Fritters: sweetcorn, spinach and fetta fritters with poached eggs and relish.$15

Lee and Me can be found at 87 Crown Street, Wollongong. They are currently offering a $20 voucher for the cafe if you spend $40 or more in the boutique...hey...that's a flip wallet and then lunch is on us!
