We're excited to welcome Vegas & Rose into our Status family. They are the new kids on the block, and Ballarat couldn't be luckier to have them. We recently spoke to owner Penthea about her new boutique cafe.
Q: Congratulations on opening up your café and boutique guys! What made you start this exciting venture?
A: I've worked in the hospitality industry off and on for many years and always thought I would love to try doing it for myself one day. We opened 3 weeks ago and are loving it. I've been at home for the last 4 years looking after my two little ones aged 4 1/2 and 3. Last year I opened an ETSY shop selling vintage homewares online. Plus doing vintage markets around the inner north of Melbourne. We moved to Ballarat earlier this year and decided to set up Vegas and Rose here. Cafe plus vintage homewares, gifts plus Status Anxiety = Vegas and Rose. The locals have been very welcoming.
Q: What’s your vision for the shop?
A: I'd say our vision is to keep serving up brilliant coffee. Good quality locally sourced produce. Keep the menu simple but interesting. And of course I'd love all of our customers to own at least one Status Anxiety wallet!
Q: What do we have to try from the menu?
A: Coffee Supreme of course! Roasted in Melbourne. Lucky us...we are the only cafe serving Coffe Supreme in Ballarat. yippee! Our house made cheesy spinach and feta savoury muffins seem to be a hit! Plus we make a delicious Rosewater and Pistachio cupcake { my personal favourite }
